B.C. is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 16% below 2007 levels by 2025, 40% by 2030, 60% by 2040 and 80% by 2050.
To do this, we’re taking action to reduce pollution and waste while identifying new technologies and opportunities that will help us meet our longer-term climate goals. We are also preparing for the impacts of a changing climate, so our communities and economy continue to thrive.
CleanBC is our plan for a cleaner, better future with a low-carbon economy that creates opportunities for all.
The CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 expands and speeds up these actions to close the gap to our climate goals and put B.C. on the path to net zero emissions by 2050.
We’re working towards a future where new buildings and vehicles produce no emissions at all; where we use less energy and create less waste; where communities and businesses are ready for a changing climate; and where industries are the cleanest in the world. By finding clean, efficient solutions as we prepare for the climate changes ahead, we will strengthen B.C.’s economy and create opportunities for people across the province.
