As nearly 200 countries usher in the 2023 United Nations climate conference, known as COP28, both The Conference Board and Bloomberg Intelligence studies found that companies and investors are increasing their investments in clean energy and related environment-social-governance (ESG) initiatives.
These investments are in part in response to market pressures and inspired by the related massive incentives and funding opportunities from the federal government – with the Inflation Reduction Act, the Infrastructure Investment Act, and the CHIPS and Science Act, totaling about $3 trillion. “If you look at just the clean energy side of it, it's probably more like a trillion,” Dr. Vanessa Chan, Chief Commercialization Officer of the Department of Energy, and Director of the Office of Technology Transitions, told me in an exclusive interview on Electric Ladies Podcast.
